Training, Workshops, and Events
DCN designs and facilitates training events for universities, federal agencies, entrepreneurs, private equity and angel investors, national and international development agencies and development finance practitioners. Our seminars and institutes have been produced in over 100 communities across the U.S.
Our training products include:
- Seed Investing as a Team Sport (SITS) -- a working session for private investors in entrepreneurial ventures.
- Swing for the Fences - Seed Investing for Entrepreneurs -- a training and networking event that provides young companies with an inside look at how seed investors think, work and make decisions.
- Strategic Patent Managment for Entrepreneurs -- a workshop that reveals simple yet highly effective methods to gain control of your patent portfolio. This half-day workshop explores how to develop a strong patent strategy, work effectively with patent attorneys, understand and manage risks, and ultimately make solid patent investment decisions.
- Technology Ventures Workshop: The Roadmap from Technology to Market Success -- a practical guide, offered in both a full- and half-day format, to preparing an initial business plan for a new venture based on advanced technology, providing participants with the know-how, team skills and networking opportunities to begin the capital raising process. For technologists and entrepreneurs.
- Technology Ventures Workshop II (pre-req TVW) -- applying the skills learned in TVW, preparing for and making formal presentations to investors and licensees, and building connections that can lead to investment or license transactions.
