Christina Kappaz

DCN Founder

Christina Kappaz is a founder of DCN. From mid-2002 to mid-2005 she served as interim Executive Director of the Latin American Venture Capital Association (LAVCA). Christina brought to this position over ten years experience in economic development, small business development and workforce training. She worked for three years at the World Bank on private sector development programs and three years at the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank.

Christina currently works for Cimarron Capital Partners, a fund of funds manager, where she heads the firm’s business development in Latin America.

Prior to joining Cimarron, Christina was a managing partner with Millennia Consulting, where she applied her economic development experience to endeavors in the United States as well as internationally. Her areas of expertise include policy analysis, program design, financial analysis, strategic planning and evaluation. She coordinated a consultant team providing technical assistance to a US-Mexico Task Force, under the direction of Nacional Financiera of Mexico, to develop a reform package and action plan for developing the venture capital industry in Mexico. She is also part of the Millennia team of trainers that deliver seminars for angel investors and entrepreneurs for the National Association of Seed and Venture Funds. She is co-author of Reducing Poverty, Building Peace (Kumarian Press, 2005)

Christina holds both a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University. Her B.A. in Government is from Dartmouth College. She is fluent in Spanish.
